For all who have fed me, and all who have shared my table.

Producing a beautiful meal or a special treat has always been the easiest way for me to nurture the people I love. It started when my children were young. They sat in springy infant seats on the kitchen counter while I cooked. When they were old enough to hold a spoon, they sat on the edge of the counter and stirred, then progressed to plunging plump little hands into dough. The things we cooked up together were expressions of our love. And though my children left my home long ago, we still share the same bond of creativity, experimentation and pleasure with each other and our dear friends.

I have collected these recipes as milestones of my own life’s history. From friends, from travels and great restaurants. I’ve borrowed and invented along the way. Here you’ll find some of my most treasured culinary memories, offered as replicable pleasures for all of you who might like to share this love.

I hope they fill you to the brim,

Yvonne
